YILAN CONFETENCE 2026
SDG Youth Impact Developers Conference 2026 Q4 @ Yilan
From Farm to Future: Reimagining Food Systems for a Sustainable World
Yilan, Taiwan
Fo Guang University × Da-Wen Aquaculture & Leisure Farm
October 24–25, 2026
Global Youth × Food Systems × Climate Action × AI × Circular Economy

About the Conference
What if the future of climate action begins with what we eat?
Food is more than what we put on our plates. Behind every meal is a complex system connecting land, water, energy, biodiversity, culture, technology, carbon emissions, and human choices.
The SDG Youth Impact Developers Conference 2026 Q4 @ Yilan brings together international youth, Taiwanese students, educators, sustainability practitioners, and local food producers for a two-day immersive journey into the future of sustainable food systems.
Unlike a conventional conference built around speeches and presentations, Yilan becomes our Living Lab.
Participants will move from university classrooms and professional kitchens to forests, aquaculture ponds, and local food-production sites—learning directly from real-world systems and working across cultures to rethink how food can become part of the solution to climate change.
Through food education, carbon-footprint analysis, sustainable agriculture and aquaculture, circular economy practices, AI applications, and cross-cultural co-creation, participants will turn learning into action—and action into measurable impact.
Why
Yilan?
Yilan offers something a conventional conference venue cannot provide: a living connection between people, food, land, water, and local communities.
Conference Background
The global food system sits at the intersection of some of the most urgent challenges of our generation: climate change, biodiversity loss, resource consumption, food security, and sustainable development.
But for young people, these challenges can often feel distant—represented by statistics, reports, or SDG icons rather than everyday decisions.
The Yilan Conference takes a different approach.
We begin with something everyone understands: a meal.
-
Where did it come from?
-
How much carbon did it generate?
-
How was it produced?
-
What happened to the waste?
-
Could technology make the system smarter?
-
Could our choices make it more sustainable?
Participants will explore these questions through direct experience rather than lectures alone.

Our Purpose
Rethink Food
Enabling young people to rethink the land, water resources, production methods, carbon emissions, biodiversity, and consumption choices behind "food."
Measure Impact
Transforming abstract climate issues into real-world data that can be compared, analyzed, and discussed through carbon footprint tools. The accompanying materials compare emissions differences between everyday diets, low-carbon vegetarian diets, and sustainable seafood.
Experience Circularity
Understanding how the Circular Economy truly happens through farm and aquaculture experiences, rather than just textbook concepts.
Connect Across Cultures
Teaming Taiwanese youth with international youth from different countries to rethink global sustainability through diverse food cultures, agriculture, climate, and life experiences.
Turn Learning into Action
Utilizing AI, video, design, and cross-cultural collaboration, transforming two days of observation into bilingual outcomes, youth perspectives, and communicable sustainability initiatives.
